Destined Series Companion Short – Stolen: Chloe’s Story

So many of you have asked about a story just for Chloe! And…it’s happening!!

I first came up with Chloe when I wondered what a young woman who grew up in Draicia’s violent Wolf clan would be like, and I just had fun imagining the details and backstory. But the more I wrote, the more I loved her, and before I knew it, she had a story of her own!

Stolen: Chloe’s Story will be a novella-length Aladdin retelling that I’m going to release as a serial for my email list, chapter by chapter. And Chloe will be representing the character of ….

As usual, I’m going way way back to the original fairy tale from Thousand and One Nights for my inspiration, which has been…interesting! The prologue and possibly Chapter 1 will be released on Nov 7 so be sure to sign up for my email list by then if you want to read it.

In other news, I finished the first draft of Book 6 (Cursed: Briar Rose’s Story) about a month ago! Yay! I am now up to my eyebrows in edits, and it will probably be a few months before this phase is done, but I’ll keep you posted. I’m really looking forward to sharing Briar Rose’s story with you…

Destined series update – Book 5 comes out on 7/27!

Wow, can’t believe I’m writing this post…we’ve come a long way since Fated: Cinderella’s Story came out in August 2017.

And no big deal but I’ve had two baby boys since then, and omg I am SO TIRED.

Power nap!

Back in 2017 when I started this series, I had big plans for this blog. Instead I’ve been devoting every hour of childcare time to writing and haven’t had much time for other fun author stuff.

That probably won’t change much for the next few years since we have three little munchkins under the age of five running around right now. But I will try to post on this blog a bit more at least!!

Destined Series Update

Book 5 in the series is coming out this Saturday July 27! Yay!! It is a Snow White retelling starring Alba, who is one of Ella’s stepsisters from way back in Book 1.

There are cameos from many beloved characters throughout the book, including fan favorite Chloe from Book 4 (who am I kidding, she’s my favorite too).

I love this story partly because Alba’s character is very close to my heart as a military wife. This world can be scary and we want to keep our loved ones close and safe…but we were meant for more than safety!

Like Alba’s father, my husband is in the military and his job is fairly dangerous. I’ve had to work out how to encourage him to do what he feels called to do and wrestle back my desire to keep danger and deployments out of our lives.

It’s not easy but writing actually helps me process it all. Aren’t stories amazing like that?!

Our new baby is already 8 weeks old! How did that happen?

I’ve been taking him out to coffee shops with me and wearing him in the amazing Solly wrap for writing dates, but he’s probably going to be too squirmy and awake for that soon. Still, it’s been fun to get that sweet time with him and pack in a bit of writing on Book 6 when I can.

Speaking of Book 6 – it will be the final full length novel in the Destined series, a Sleeping Beauty retelling starring Briar Rose, aka Bri, Ella’s other stepsister.

Her story brings together so many pieces from the other books and it has been so much fun to write. I’m not sure when it will be done but hoping for the end of the year ish.

What’s after Book 6 in the Destined series?

I’m so glad you asked! I’m working on at least one more short story in the Destined world that will be free for my email list, and then I’m going to be plotting out another fantasy series. Not fairy tale retellings but a fresh take on another very familiar set of stories. More about that later this year. 😉 That’s all for now.
